Undressed exposed rejecting fragility
bright epidermis shed no mistake I stand
entrenched in solidity my core unfurled
awash with revelations yet to clarify.
Reptile skin armor beckons with a gloss cloak
an offer of asylum from foreign lands
where falls on slippery slopes imperil face
no scars imprinted no censors admitted.
Lace curtains not needed I entreat. My goal to
grow ascending roots well nourished with grace
to baste in sumptuous serendipity
procreate bright stars embedded in my heart.
Though seasons pass enforcing kismet’s malign
my dream sustains the bonfire’s flames deep within
this bare stick thriving alive seeking to
ascend far beyond imagination’s smiles.

A bold proclamation from the inner core of a repilian barked beauty - it gives me the sense of a native person, fiercely proud of their heritage and sleek, sinewy, though possibly starved body. Very strong and unexpected piece. Thank you.
