Morning Glory

Missing image
Small, dancing blossoms
burst from buds:
aubergine haloes.

    Aw, Girl

you know I love this one. Anything to do with God's crreation is beyond poetry and like music to me. Is that pic from where you described the flowers by your house?

I want to see these. Aubergine means purple, right? Sounds haughty European for purple *g* but kind of a nifty new word, too. You like, I like.

And I see someone who's been gone for as long as I have came back. *SHEESH* I thought you said he was gone from AP. I'm gonna go have a look at his site and see if he's baiting you, OK? *sigh* I don't think this is fair to you but - of course you can handle it. Him, I mean. *he-he*

    Beautiful.

Looks like an abbreviated form of Haiku to me in shape; no abbreviation exists in the beauty of the verse that I could make out.

Thank you for a delicious new word, "aubergine!" I particularly enjoyed "dancing blossoms," as the shape always puts me in mind of ball gowns. A creamy throat with an "aubergine halo", lovely imagery.

Thanks for the good words, Mirthryl!

You are so kind to drop by and see if I'm still alive! *s*

Yes, I like the word "aubergine" to describe a deep purple. My knowledge of it came from some European folk who wrote at a site where I posted years back; it 's chiefly a European term for a certain shade of purple (which, BTW, is my favorite color ... in case you didn't note!)

Here's what Wikipedia had to say about it: "Eggplant is a dark purple[1] or brownish-purple[2] color that resembles the color of the outer skin of European eggplants.[3] Another name for the color eggplant is aubergine[2] (the French and British English word for eggplant)."

At any rate, what's so fascinating about these morning glories (and praps this is common knowledge among green thumbers) the blossoms are pure blue during the day, and turn aubergine in the evening before they close up. It's WEIRD to have the flower change color ... but extremely cool.

Cheers, m'dear! Coming to your site later today to see what genius you've created.
