Season of Wonder …

A tympani of mindful masters
Mirrored scenes in deep-well springs,
Now their leaves like gifts of giving
Thrill like flowers strewn for kings.
Summer’s symphony fast fading
Psalms of sages - Autumn brings!

Volumes of distinctive treasure
Spread like carpets for our mind,
Golden red, burnt orange and yellow
Now conjugate and intertwine -
Decomposing ~ re-composing
What waits ahead from what’s behind ...

Author notes

"The ancient sages have a message of meaningful purpose in our lives."

"The wonder is that we can see these trees, and not wonder more."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Autumn wins you best by this its mute appeal to sympathy for its decay.”
Robert Browning

“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.” George Eliot

“Believe in yourself, your neighbors, your work, your ultimate attainment of more complete happiness. It is only the farmer who faithfully plants seeds in the Spring, who reaps a harvest in Autumn.”
B.C. Forbes

Well it seems you've intertwined the wisdom of thinkers and their writing with the splendors of nature and how both die yet their value for tomorrow lives on. That's quite creative, you are to be congratulated on that!

Here leaves have a double meaning (books/wisdom and of course nature), but both lead to that aforementioned growth.

Ah I wonder if Whitman and Emerson would be pleased to know we view their wisdom as compost?

I have another name for mine. Cow s---
