Concordia University class
Summer afternoon, a breeze
floats through the air
suffocates my nostrils
Poetry and the learning
student who desires to master
the art of communication
with a fountain pen
that leaves scratch strokes
on virgin blank paper
Everything I learned about
poetry to date
has been through love affairs
and one night stands
try to capture the essence
of the evening as the
lover slips out the back door
Everything I learned about
poetry I have learned on my own:
technical terms that are discussed
I had no clue existed
I just loved the sound of the ink
as it slid silently across the paper
a river flow of thoughts
penned into eternity
And then the word is tossed
into the summer air
my mind draws a blank
@What the fuck is enjambment?@
It is the progression
of my life
that was stagnated before
returning to a university
atmosphere of intelligence
But I had called it
alcoholism

absolutely love the two "everything i learned about poetry..." stanzas... i'm exactly the same way and know just what you're talking about. you expressed that perfectly.

Really good job. I think I was expecting something different, but I really liked the 3rd and 4th stanzas - great stuff!!
