The first time I listened to Aaron Goldberg on an Autumn day

Desperate "Inspire me!" 's
Shouted from the top of this old
Army tank
I stand on
In the forest
Soldiers with pretend guns [I hope]
Walk past

Old golden leaves
Fall down to the floor
The act of death has never looked
So lovely.

Still, all that remains in my mind
Is that song on the radio
And the kiss you gave
Me before you left for work.

I flick back through the pages
Of the notebook I bought for myself
To fill with beautiful metaphores
Describing nature at it's best.
Yet all the words which come to me
Descirbes drugs
Sex
Or my material, spoilt, lonely way of living

I want to be stunned
By sunsets and the donkeys in my garden.
And not rely on the last day of the month.

Still I continue pouring coffee
Earning a living
Which leaves me as
a dear clean mess
alone in a crowd

Whoever said the best things in
Life are free
Has clearly never read the metro.

Yes. Well I have a garden, then a stream, then a donkey field.

      I need sleep!

    I am very impressed.
I love how you capture an essence,
especially at "And the kiss you gave Me before you left for work"
I also really like the fact that you write about wanting to capture more nature and instead you get all these things that are no good.
I love the donkeys in your garden, made me smile

I'm glad you get it, I don't think it makes much sense...

Yeah, I get frustrated at being born into a decade which appreciates money and me being more interested in getting pissed than looking in my garden.

They make me smile! Except when they wake me up early every morning.
