Harvest and Renewal

The year has been hard, not many crops to sow.
Pain, loss, and hardship have been the bulk of
This year's reaping.
But Samhain is near, and just days before it
I see a small bit of good crop coming in.

A time of power, a time of renewal,
New Year's Night approaches, and I await it
With hope and joy, and gathering strength.
We can and will make a difference in our lives.

The energy gathers, and so do we all,
For Samhain night is almost here, and we must prepare.
Many do not, and will not, understand, nor care to.
But we do, and we will, and we are who we are.

Cast off the old and the dead, push away the withered
And gather up for Winter's long sleep we shall.
We work, we celebrate, we mourn, we cherish.
As we celebrate this night of nights.

Golden Father and Silver Mother, we Love thee.
Wisdom Mother and Hunter Father, we Honour thee.
As we ever shall do.

Author notes

This is both a personall subject for me, but one I am willing to share with those who would have the sharing. Samhain is Halloween, the Pagan/Wiccan New Year. This is the time where in older times, folk would cull out the sick cattle, gather harvests for Winter, and celebrate and honour those who have passed on that year. They also celebrated the night with dancing, music, and even writing down bad habits, or bad things that had happened that year, and burning the lists in the bonfire, symbolicly ridding themselves of such things.

For all who do celebrate this Sabbat, Merry Samhain, and may your celebrations and workings go equally well

Pray, tell me your thoughts?
