I look up. Ready for the take off. Ready to fly.
A billion tons of explosives beneath me.
They'll take me away in a moment.
One last check. Though I know it's too late.
One last look, I hasten to add,
Even if I cannot see the ground.
Strapped in.
The pressure begins to build.
Our mighty spear piercing the blue sky.
Parting clouds above.
Creating more below.
In minutes that feel like days,
The heavens part for me like curtains,
Drawing open for the opening night,
As if everything on Earth were just
A warm up, the practise run,
Before the Universe dances true.
With a shudder we're now floating
Another asteroid hovering
Weightless.
I see your continent below.
The sketch of your country,
Like a spinning top, tornado,
A strange, melancholy cake.
It's now or never.
This angel delivers.
A message for you.
Leaping from on high.
A prayer in reverse.
A deity for a day.
Plummeting through
Miles of emptiness.
The disc hovers as movement seems
Not to make a difference filling the
Whole gamete of this brief life of
Insignificance, merely a decimal point
0.000000001 of life today existing for
0.00000001 of time since long past
But the circle expands to fill my life
Blue and white
Engulfs everything, lassoing back into
Its' embrace
A land mass shimmers, mountains, lakes,
Gains coherance
Shining wonders of humanity begin to
Take shape
Sprawling slap-dash side-by-side-by-
Tendrils sucking life out of this rock
But diving deeper and deeper ready
To create a tiny dent on a tiny shape
Landing.
A sound.
You see.
A message from an angel.
See you on the other side.

your words are so well chosen and the series of phrase as well! this is good like looking at the sky, at night when it's clear and you can see the stars! the last line ties it up wonderfully and i love the word play of, "opening night" you are a master. <3 you to eternity, in the next life poetry shall bring us together, again and again. forever your friend.
