Reflecting Back

Reflecting back on Spring
a sadness fills my soul
just how my heart was fooled
that he could make me whole

Repeating past mistakes
my mind did misconstrue
the words brought memories
of tender love with you

My failure to protect
fragile emotions so true
left me burned and crying
for a love long overdue

So sad and so full of emotion. One could feel the pain in these words and the sorrow of losing this love which torments the soul. But, somewhere, we all have a soulmate who is waiting for us and one day that person will come by and these memories of sadness will fade. Such a beautiful piece. Thank you so much for sharing.

    amazing

this was stunning from beginning to end your words were romantic and reflective without being cliche or cheesy. You rhyme flawless through me into the pace which was maintained. It was also very emotive and sad, I genuinely wished it was longer I could have read so much more. 'just how my heart was fooled
that he could make me whole' that was my fave bit. keep writing, thanks for entering good luck in my contest

He is a damned fool and he will pay for what
he has done. But you were too good for him.
You are such a wonderful, beautiful, and
loving person. And your Knight is out there.
His stallion isn't equipped with GPS.
This is really well written and tugs at the
heart. Good luck in the contest.
    Hang in there
