Watch the leaves fall away
As bare structures are exposed
Look off into the distant field
As the snow swirls down to join the leaves
Icy fingers come racing into the forest
Taking down the old and placing the new
Shivering breezes come to shake the sticks
Away from the roots of their home
Shimering tunnels of ice form
Upon the left over branches
Giving the Earth and shinning glow
Reflecting beauty in destruction
The chrisp whitness lying over the ground
Covering decaying leaves
Smothering the sleeping animals
Chilling the very atmosphere around it
When the leaves fall away
Bare structures are exposed
Icy fingers race to remove the past
While ice and snow make-up the future

I like how you have exposed the beauty of "exposure" as the leaves fall away and for this brief time of "stick season" we are privileged to the architecture of the trees and skylines before winter comes and coats it all with snow. A nice, thoughtful piece; I especially enjoyed the first two stanzas - thank you.

Beautiful flow here and great visual descriptions. A couple of misspelled words (shimmering; crisp) but these are not overly distracting. I like the last line implying "make-up" as a cosmetic, rather than "make up" as in putting together... seems to fit the rest of the poem very well. Very enjoyable read.
