Lingering cries, hurtful and stinging lies. Making an attempt at helping
someone, she fails. Making an attempt at caring, the evil prevails.
Two knocks at her door and she's weak at the knees. Stumbling up,
she wipes her eyes, the smile returns to her face, and the hurt
gets forced inside.
Her mom opens up her door, yelling at her to finish cleaning up
the dirty house, that each day, she regrets to step foot into. The
work and yelling get worse everyday. The hurt and pain build up
inside her brain, injuring her heart and spirit.
But what is a spirit when it's been trampled on? What is a feeling
if it has no meaning to anyone else? There's nothing more to do
but suck up the tears, be hardcore and smile like you've never been
hurt once in your life.
The saddest life, the worst end a person could have. The life that
only a prisoner would own, the life no one could cherish. Sickening
corruptions and disturbing dreams, reality is what you make it.
Reality is everything.
A happy life only exists when she closes her eyes. The fantasy world
that she begs her everyday life to be like. Nothing is the same anymore,
the hope she once had is all gone.
She won't drink water because her tears are all she seems to use to
quench her thirst anymore. The food to nourish her body is taken away
when she misbehaves, making her stomach pound and grumble for food.
Pain, physical and mental, slowly creeps onto her bones, her organs and
her mind. The mental pain more serious, than that of the blind.
The saddest life, when someone doesn't seek out help. The saddest life,
when a child's life is made a living hell. Seek for what you may think you
cannot find. The saddest life, when you cannot experience that last line.
Author notes
Seek for what you may think you cannot find.. Something that i think all of us can put to use. Those little things that you think you may never find or may be outta reach, those are what you need to reach for. This girl needed help, but she thought that help was too far for her to find, but it's not. You can always find help if you need it. Nobody is alone, no matter what you or anyone else thinks.

I loved it!
Sorry that I pressed enter before I was done reading your poem! Anyways back to the poem....LOVED IT with all capital letters! The emotion that came out of this piece was so broken and powerful that its sucked me in right away! The imagery of the whole piece was stunning and so there. I felt like I was watching a movie in my head! The whole piece together was so inspiring just by you telling the story of this little girl and then I read your Authors Note. Then I really got moved, It was so heart-felt and beautiful that I felt like you really did care! Not that I'm insinuating anything but sometimes poets just write to write you know! Keep up the great work!
Smile,
E
P.S. for some reason it won't let me give you applause
I'd give you three though!
