Stand By My Pen

You have a weapon, wow.
I have one as well.
Yours has a larger blade;
Mine has a larger impact.
Yours has bullets to stop the heart;
Mine can stop, start, change, corrupt,
Provoke, bleed, shatter, and resurrect
The heart, mind, spirit, and soul.
Swear by your weapons if you desire,
But I will stand by my pen.

Please tell me what you think

    Absolutely awesome poem, the comparison with the usage of an actual weapon against the pen that forms the strength of words. Written words have a everlasting effect on society and the world. Words have the ability to share things that would be more difficult and complicated to show through actions. Though, swords and guns might be practical in wars, it cannot be adequately compared to the most mightiest swords, the pen.

    Ah, the power of the might pen -- to be feared.
    Many don't understand, once in print, especially on the internet, words last for ever.
