And the day seems really long.
Who steps in to fill the gap?
So the children know they belong.
Who changes diapers every day?
Smelling the baby potpourri,
Giving love to each precious child,
And not even on the family tree.
Playing when the time is fun,
Giving comfort when they feel sad,
Keeping safe the precious souls,
What a relief for Mom and Dad.
Who has to wear so many hats?
Being a nurse, teacher, friend and more,
Having a heart that never goes empty,
For all the children they adore.
The childcare worker is the answer,
The description fits like a glove.
Remember them each and every day,
As they give your children undying love.
Please tell me what you think

This is a sweet piece. I enjoyed the fluent rhyme too. I think this is something lots of people will enjoy and relate to, be it the parent or careworker.

It is a big responsibility for sure, but Oh so rewarding.

It is so nice to read such a positive message on this subject for a change. It is people like you and your wife that help children to grow and thrive, and in the meantime you help parents who have to work, to know that their precious children are receiving the love and care they deserve, while they are gone. Bless you and your wife for the love that you share with our future. Blessings, Patty

It is a great career to have, helps keep one young for sure. Yet it can make you feel so old. LOL

When I first read this it seemed too good to be true when you hear or read the stories of abuse by daycare workers.
I must be jaded from those stories.
Then when I saw that you run a daycare in your home I was amazed. It definitely takes a special person to want to do that.

Thank you, unfortunantly the press likes too reflect on the negative as well as it should, but the good never seems to be news. My wife and I take it seriously and are in groupd to get rid of those that are just doing it because it seems like an easy job. Than ks again for the comment and positive feed back.

A brave poem - given the bad press currently given to childcare workers. Your support is of course completely well-founded, admirable and nicely delivered.

thanks so much for this. working with children is one of the most blessing filled fields there is. and it is also one of the most poorly paid and underappreciated.
i would not trade my carreer for the world, but it's nice to know that you are appreciated. -

The rewards can be great for sure. Not a career for everybody but I love it for sure.

My job for years
love children,
I remember early mornings dreading work, and within seconds of walking through the door, the look on their faces, they got so excited to see me, I realize it sounds vain, but nothing can possibly lift your spirits as much as they lifted mine
I really enjoyed this
I have to admit by the end of day I was watching the clock

a great dedication to very hard working people
beautifully done
God bless you...

I am going to be a childcare worker, so this was very inspiring to me. I am actually going to college for it. Thank you for this poem. it was encouraging and motivating.

Thank you, my wife and I have an in home daycare and love it. It is hourly one of the lowest paid careers around but probably one of the most rewarding. Go get that education and make a difference in the lives of little ones who need it.

Yeah... I don't mind the money situation too much. So far, I am planning on having two incomes. hopefully. We'll see how it works out, though. god's plan is always better, but this is just my general outline of what is to come.
That is so cool that you have a home daycare! how many children do you care for? and what age groups?

Most don't do it for the money for sure. We have 9 enrolled in ours.
