the ghosts of Soho
drape visitors in
stories of
disco lit
short- lived nirvana
painting afterlife
in subway shades;
cigarette smog,
peeled paint,
prison backed benches
but track marks
cement my disco lit fascination
and I'll leave.....
[tomorrow]

i don't ever even bat an eye
just know it was you all along
who had a hold of my heart
but the demon and me
were the best of friends from the start"

I like the idea of shades of the subway. Makes me think of the gray, dull lifeless feeling the subway brings. This piece was delicate and yet packed with so much emotion. Excellent write and thank you for sharing!

.....its a long way to heaven,
hang your head and try,
its hard road to travel,
to turn your life around,
it's along way to heaven,
if your soul aint free,
but it's a quick trip to nowhere,
the devil and me.
