Kage (Part one)

A shadow, I met along the way
On my way to light the day
A shadow i see today, this day
A shadow who was off task
I ask:

Dear sir or ma'am
Dear shadow my dear
You should be far from here
No, not so near
Or else my friend
You'll disappear.

And with a sigh,
I do not lie
This was his reply
His reply to me
Was dark you see
for his life had gone awry:

Sweet Sun my dear Miss
I have not a problem here
But where I am to be
Many problems appear
My dear home of the valley
Is too dull and dreary
Of all of the darkness
I do so grow weary
Those that i follow
Have nowhere to go
And humans had given up years ago.
So I ask of you
My dear sweet sun
If i could venture to a place more fun
Not as dark and dreary as home
But somewhere that i have not gone.

And my answer came
My voice as tame
As my dear shadow's heart:

My dear, my shade
This is your choice
It's time now to depart
