Let Down
His eyes alight like silver moons
He smiles empathetically
And burns our sympathy with tears
Evangelical man, what have I?
All these years...I tried to find
A friend in this place
But with your cross and trust
A promise I'll have your grace
And those beautiful pearl teeth
So clean and precious white
His eyes bright with blue skies
Not these tricksters it's paradise
I wonder if it tastes good
To be full and never empty
Filled with this bliss
I offer you my cloth
That I used to wipe the floor
And soaked it with kerosene
Burn this prison down
Burn my frown
If you only could say one word
That I haven't learned to ignore
Somewhere before life let me down.
