In a rose

The pretty pinks are very far from shy
And honeysuckle's tickling my nose
Though other blooms will often tempt my eye
I always see your beauty in a rose

A clematis along the garage wall
Is intertwined with passion fruit and flower
A row of pots displays the very small
Beside a bed where lilies are in power

I'd really rather have the strawberries
Than all the flowers the garden has to boast
Where scent and colours do their best to please
Fresh garden fruit is what I love the most

But rules are made for breaking I suppose
I always see your beauty in a rose

    Boffo!

The closing couplet is quite charming - feels like the poem has turned around and is looking back on itself.

damn vest is growing on me

Vernacular. Simple without being facile. Not bad.

Ahhh, this was VERY well constructed and delivered with both Passion and promise!

A great visual tour-de-force of compassion, love and deep friendship for a special one.

    very nice indeed Jeff,
