Inside Out

The acidic sting of bile
Gnawing at my heart,
Shredding my every part,
And I ache for awhile….

This aching will pass,
I need only to wait
For sweet time to take;
To finally finish this fast…

This fast from freedom -
now I breathe and live
only to wake and forget
My fear that he isn’t gone.

Fear reappears suddenly –
Retch, bleed and scream;
Bruise, bite and dream
but he won’t get out of me.

The way he was forced in,
I cannot to force him out –
The more pain is unsought,
The more embedded it is.
