for a thesis

1. Simply, what is your religion/religious beliefs?

I am a Christian. A follower of Christ! I believe in Gods Holy word.

2. Do you feel comfortable with this belief or believe you should walk a different path? If you feel your path should be elsewhere, where do you feel you would be most comfortable?

I am very comfortable with my walk and as I study and turn my life over to God the    more he provides for me.  I am not a person who belongs to a denomination for me that is against the Bible. After all demonination means divison. I worship with the church, not at church(fellow christians). That also is very freeing to me as I can attend and listen to the Gods word without "the traditions".

3. Describe in a short paragraph what you feel is the difference between religion and spirituality.

Religion is who or what you believe in. Spirituality is your place in it. You can be a religious person and never have spirituality. I feel for those people because there is always something missing for them. Most of those people reailze this and seek to find the spirituality that is missing when they only need to let it fill them and use the religious knowelege they have to be filled or let the spirit lead them.

4. How do you feel about religious intolerance? Is there only one set of beliefs that should exist; or do you accept that each individual is entitled to their own beliefs? Moreso, would you accept that person into your life even with a different view?

I accept that that there is more than one set of beliefs and fully believe that they should be allowed to worship or not worship whichever they choose. I belief that there is only God that has the right to judge each and every individual and not me. I would allow that person in my life to a point however my beliefs tell me there are limits to this I should not marry a person that is uneven yoked. I also have an obligation to speak Gods word to all unbelievers. I feel that if this is done out of Love that the person will understand.

5. I would like for you to quote me one religious/spiritual quote (does not have to be biblical) and interpret it into your own thoughts.

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever.
      Isaiah 40:8
Gods word will always be there for us to use, hold, learn from, and teach others.

Your response to number 2 is interesting. I like the view stated here.

Most of your answer to 4 is well stated in my opinion. I personally disagree with the last line, but that is based on my religious upbringing and what knowledge I have sought afterwards

Thank you for helping me out with this. Please leave your entry here a bit so that I have time to compile my thesis.

The obligation to speak His word to all nonbelievers. To me that is forcing something down someone's throat so to speak. Another person in this contest stated it well- those that wish to seek religion/faith/spirtuality or what have you; will. We are not meant to push our beliefs on someone else. Something I know as a minister,

I would never force the word down anyones throat I simply Plant a seed when ever there is an opportunity. When we are in conversations about things there are ways to kindly let people know you are praying for them, or that you are a follower of christ in gentle subtle hints. The word of my Lord is not to stay hidden and we are to go and tell all yes but we are to be christian like about it Jesus forced no man to follow him nor should we.!!! As we are all to strive to be christlike!! With love Deb

I can understand your point, but in essence you are taking away a person's right to freewill by making someone listen to perhaps what they do not want to hear or believe in.

I am not going to debate it, as I will stand strong by the theory of each person has theiir own right to choose; in fact it was one of the lessongs taught in my theology and religion classes. The word of God needs to be out there, but still, it needs to be at their own choosing.

            Blessings, Storm
