Thickening air grasping you
As time lays a frozen mass
A joyous maiden standing in the doorway
That expression of pain on her face
The hello's and goodbye's lost
As the sky quietly extracts
Each beauty of the day
Calling for the colours of autumn
Or the jewels that shimmer in spring
Stars leaning down for you
To grant you this wish
As if somehow, you were important
But these are just delusions my friend
We're simply a moving mass
A population of thousands
Each with their own pathetic story
Go with the flow and forget your joy
It doesn't belong in this place
Crushing the skulls of men
Who have been silently broken
She said so many things
The maiden of time
Promising our freedom
The joy of a thousand hearts
Yet here we stand, a mass
The edge of this frozen cliff
Oh the sky is black
And even it seems to freeze
Cracks forming in our very being
Take comfort in the sheer beauty
As our being is disperesed
Thousands of particles in the air
A moment of pure perfection
But this question remains
One you refuse to let go
...Were we ever actually there?
...Did we ever feel that pain?
...When did the maiden freeze
For her heart was icy and cold
Leaving some to rot on that cliff
Frozen portraits of obedience
