5 simple questions...
1. Simply, what is your religion/religious beliefs?
2. Do you feel comfortable with this belief or believe you should walk a different path? If you feel your path should be elsewhere, where do you feel you would be most comfortable?
3. Describe in a short paragraph what you feel is the difference between religion and spirituality.
4. How do you feel about religious intolerance? Is there only one set of beliefs that should exist; or do you accept that each individual is entitled to their own beliefs? Moreso, would you accept that person into your life even with a different view?
5. I would like for you to quote me one religious/spiritual quote (does not have to be biblical) and interpret it into your own thoughts.
First and foremost I am a Christian. I believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. I was raised a Baptist and do have some but not all of the typical Baptist beliefs.
I am perfectly comfortable with this belief and my path should only go in a different direction because I am not currently acting the way I believe and know that I should act.
You can go to church religiously but not be spiritual and you can be spiritual religiously. Spirituality is within the soul and religion is rules. Someone can ask 'Are you religious' and 'Are you spiritual' you may get the same answer and you may get different answer it all depends on who you are asking. My friend who was raised in church would say she is spiritual just not to a higher being spiritual and close to the earth. I would say I am religious because I believe in God but not spiritual because I no longer have the relationship with him that is needed to be spiritual. So that is the difference- belief and relationship.
I believe that each is to his own. People may not believe what I do but they deserve to make their own choice and I have friends with different views than I do. It is hard listening to them speak their opinions sometimes because of the fact that I am in Texas- The 'Bible Belt' and non believers are used to the same typical reaction from believers.
Philippians 4:13 "I can do everything through him who gives me strength"
Abby Rike- a recent contestant on NBC's The Biggest Loser lived 10 miles from me. Three years ago her husband who was also her co worker, her five year old daughter Macy, and her two and a half week old son died in a car crash 5 miles from my and her house. She is living proof that this verse is true. Her and her husband were teachers in my East Texas school. The car accident was three years ago Oct. 13 a Friday night. Homecoming. My first homecoming after graduating. She inspires me to have strength because I have not gone through that amount of pain but she is still standing.

I like the truth and honesty to your response for number 2. It is wise.
I find your answer to 3 quite intriguing. It definitely makes me take a deeper look at what I have veiwed as differnces. Perhaps to encompass these thoughts within my own would broaden me even more.
Thank you for helping with my research. All I ask is that you leave this in a bit so that I have time to compile my thesis.
