I feel your search to find your way
And I’ve been luring you from my place
cross this expanse of time and space
You are simply the prey of my projection –
this wicked summons I send out over the waves
in search of one who cannot resist my song.
It is my nature to be wanted and it is your nature to want,
but in the having the want is lost.
So, once you profess you’re mine - and you will,
I’ll spread my wings and fly
leaving you alone on the shore of your desire.

I sat here and read this 4 times in a row. each time I did that I said to myself wow.. sure just one word, with a lot of meaning behind it.. wow in the fact that I can actually apply this in manys ways to events that happened in my life, mainly in my past. how my way of thinking seems to be distorted.. on just one reading, sure one can just skim and get whatever out of it, but me I prefer to just jump in and go deep.. it happens automatically.. this poem threw me off a bit.. ok more than a bit, but nonetheless it happen.. doesn't happen as often as it used to.. it's a good thing to throw me off, keeps me on my toes.
the one part that I really like is the last stanza. it sort of reminds me of something.. how about this.. when one wants something so much and badly, they get it, and then they realize they don't want anymore or perhaps it was never really needed. or..... there are just somethings we have no control over.. regardless if it's people, places or events.
see when a poet can get the readers to stop and think, then in my mind that's poetry.
excellent imagery
Fantastic poem

Good luck
Kat

This comment has really made me smile..
You were supposed to think; when it was written different ways of "seeing" the promt kept flashing.
I'll have to work on changing my style

A great write
Full of thoughts and a given message
to want to need and to be loved...
thats how I read it
And if he or she does not want you then you will release the wings to fly
good luck
Julie
