One day I met a friend
One day I met a man
One day I met a companion
that stood to take my hand
One day I said hello
One day I said goodbye
Now all I wanna do is shed a tear and cry
I cant be strong much longer because I know its all a lie
the face I put on around others is more than meets the eye
I feed myself the falseness of forgetting
while my heart still bleeds of pain
I feed myself the falseness of remembering
while my heart is still in shame
The thoughts of you and me keep going through my brain
like a broken filmstrip that continues to play and play
days and nights pass as it seem
as i pray for it all to be just a dream
I hope that when I wake up to reality
I will still see you standing by me
But in reality you aren't here with me
You are now with her
as much as I wish your weren't
My life will still continue with you by my side
because you are my best friend, companion and guide.

I like the last lines of your poem,
"You are now with her
as much as I wish you weren't
my life will still continue with you by my side
because you are my best friend, companion and guide."
I can relate to those lines in a way.
