Afraid

I never say what I mean
afraid of the reactoin I might receive
Holding back my true feelings
afraid to let my guards leave
I continue to build my stone walls
afraid that disaster might strike
Wanting to let you in
but afraid you'll see things you might not like
Wanting to give up
afriad to hold on
These mixed emotions
this release I continue prolong
Afraid to reach out
of the fear of you letting go
So I keep these feelings to myself
because im afraid to let them show
