Rachel's Second Sonnet

So many suns have sung since I've seen you,
sweet sister, soaring high in Heaven's wings;
still harvesting young souls from fields of blue,
and dabbling in all matter of God's things.
You're making Kingdom Come shine as a star,
much brighter than the day -- or sweet cliche --
so one might look upon it from afar,
and find a candle within midnight's day.
Amazing aegis, guardian of hope,
a fragile firefly still breathing -- dim;
but seeing light, a universal scope;
makes life so brilliant, pure; to life we swim!

This note, a little star to keep you near
when hate would terminate everything dear.

    Wonderful! Beautifully structured! Poetic skill definitely shines in feelings expressed with beautiful imagery and the message, particularly in the last two lines, sings. Very nicely written poet. Glad I stopped to read!
