You are a perfect stranger to me
you've become a spitting image of what you want to be
but all I see is a shadow of the love I used to see
you are just a stranger to me.
I used to see the embers that glowed within your eyes
I loved the way you laughed towards the sunny setting skies
I believed in every word that you stitched into my heart
but the shadow of your fear embraced and tore your world apart.
You only smile when i insist a grin is what is best
to define the way one looks at you compared to all the rest
and all I did was give you every wish I had ever made
for the shadow of a girl who has far more than what's displayed.
Your like a brand new pair of shoes that fit a pair of feet
you will walk a couple of miles, then you will rub until they bleed
becasue you fear the distance of the road you used to know
becasue your always wondering how far you'll have to go.
You are a perfect stranger to me
you've become a spitting image of what you want to be
but all I see is a shadow of the love I used to see
you are just a stranger to me.
