Feeling trapped and under heavy veils of rain
detonated shards of frozen pain
seep beneath the surface of my skin like poison.
Stood by familiar windows, someone stands
tracing the sky's tears with dripping hands
finding little warmth from the quiet fire.
From my feet, I have fallen short
waiting on the stoop of our home that we bought
my swollen eyes have seen enough and crave a new horizon.
Listening out for the roll of a sports car tearing up the dive
I wait to hear your car door slam to proove that your alive
and all I ask is when you pass the threshold of my heart
to fix the broken pieces that tear our love apart.
