Peggy is 8 years old. She has thick, dark, curly hair and likes to keep her world in order. She also loves learning new things. Her mother is an alcoholic and Peggy has hardly seen her since she was 3 when her parents divorced. She has lived with father and her paternal grandmother since that time. Dad has just remarried and they are expecting a new baby. Peggy's mom has returned to the scene for a 'visit' and takes her to a far away city to live, telling her that her dad and stepmom don't want to be bothered with her anymore.

Excellent
Wow, you sure painted your character with such creativity. This was great. Best of luck in the contest

Oh no!
Now that's a sad character!
I could really feel this as I read.I'm not fond of 'poetry' written like this, but you grabbed my attention & gave detail to bring forth images that made 'Peggy' alive. Good going.

oh my god! This is sooooooo sad. I like the voice you use , and how you leave it at the end...leaves me to imagine the million ways she is hurting and will hurt...excellent write.

It is just a little piece of the childhood of a friend of mine. You are quite right about the hurt. Decades later she still struggles with trusting people and believing that people truly love her.

Poor little Peggy. Definitely someone where some writing could be inspired.
