His eyes have softened;
Since he met me...
His once pain stricken,
stressed eyes are gone.

Only happy, soft, gentle
eyes remain in pictures;
A smile, laughter now stands
Where a hard face once was.

I love him smiling;
I love him laughing;
His eyes are so bright
And his heart is Kind.

    When I consider the poems length the flow us fine to me. If it was longer then you might have needed to adjust it. It's good to me though.
