The Matrix

I don’t believe “The Matrix” is too far from being reality
Trapped inside this life that has us pinned down to the ground like gravity
Governments around the globe are blinding us with lies
Quick to pull the cotton wool across our weeping eyes

Maybe in another life we’ll see what once was hidden
Pointless wars forbidden and our sinning ways forgiven
For now this life I speak of seems so far away and distant
It’s got me feeling hopeless like this future’s nonexistent

Dreaming for this day to come consoling screaming souls
Another day just passes by, leaving empty holes
Until this day becomes the present instead of just a dream
I pray apocalypse will wipe this hell bound cess pit clean

    Determined

I love the philosophy you imply here of your life continuing in another body. The separation of spirit and body but the spirit being cast down held here by a force like gravity. The war and innocence implied as well to end something that will never end and at least innocently hoping that it will. It truly is a dream to see a world and your own spirit at peace. This poem gives me a trapped and suffering feeling of the author and the authors thought of war. It's extremely thought provoking and it seems you do have some hope which is also encouraging.
