I want to go to a toy store,
hunt down a toy that I have in my mind.
I want to cheer when I have found it,
hold it in my hands with nothing but excitement.
I want to ask for permission to have it,
plead with my eyes and pout till I have my way.
I want to watch the money transact,
so that it’s legally mine and none can take it away.
I want to feel the rush to get home,
tear open the box and feel the magic pouring out.
I want the playful innocence of my childhood,
ignorance and simplicity at their beautiful best.
