Using makeup on flowers?!
You know what I am getting at, right?
Obscene!
Oh, come now ... think:
A rose with a bit of blush,
Maybe some perfume, just a touch;
daisies with eyeliner ...
tulip, a new hair spray advertiser.
Give her that sculpted look!
Curls? Ah! Flower petal curlers!
And mascara, dark eyelash furlers.
What about an orchid with a tan?
And for the gracious a complete plan:
mud facials for Arum lily!
Does it sound silly?
Nail polish on roots,
and then planted in stiletto boots!
Yes makeovers for these beauties.
Let their allure increase.

A thotful mouthful. I think the sentiment appropriate for elective cosnetuc surgeries. In moderation, if it hellps one's self image, it can be a benefit. Everytinig in modedrattion. Moderation in moderation!

i think the metaphor is a bit too metaphoric
if in that picture was an onion however...

Excellent observation. Crying while getting to the core of all, eh?

...uh... this isn't quite what I was expecting to get with this contest. I didn't feel much excitement in this piece, or any really.
I don't use makeup, but my cousins do. I remember being a kid and watching my cousins paint their faces with makeup. I never understood the attraction. But than again, I just never felt a need for it. Anyways, interesting and funny poem. Thansk for entering my contect. -

Ah.
I guess we all differ. I was very excited on writing this.
Just think: all our pretty flowers in layers of makeup! You must admit ... it will so perfectly add to our fake world ...!
Good luck in your contest. I hope you get what you are looking for.

I for one, don't use makeup. Really, not even a touch of lipstick. And I think Myra has illustrated the whole silliness of this industry very well with her dry humor and eye for delectable words that dance together and sometimes take hands in rhyme.
Your eye for words are getting better dearest and I love your take on this lost world, where we all have become insecure corporate victims.
Power to the people!!!! Ha-ha=ha
Unpainted daisies in our hair!!!!

Yes We Can
That, ( I believe ) is the function of 'Poetry / to observe our world & add cosmetics to appear 'beautiful...however, I also choose to apply a COLD cream wash, to reveal the true character.
[ To 'Itch, their own. ] lol
