Professor John Cosgrove just couldn’t believe it,
after years of accepting the “light years” theory,
and refuting U.F.O. sightings because of it.
He finally established contact with an alien craft,
heading for the earth from the Pleiades galaxy.
Requesting information regarding the nature,
of planet earth with a view to finding
a suitable place to rendezvouz, with the professor,
who described the terrain and conditions on earth.
and the friendly reception they were likely to receive.
Three days later as zero hour approached,
John and a host of lerned colleagues waited while,
outside the pouring rain continued to fall.
Suddenly a frantic message was received,
stating that they had been deceived.
That the earth was full of snakes and huge insects.
this puzzled the assembled hosts ,
who had not yet sighted the Spacecraft,
who then ran across the muddy ground to their cars,
crushing the diminutive craft underfoot as it lay,
innocently awaiting them in the worm filled mud.

Very creative tale you've woven here! I love the vivid imagery and good flow to this piece. I'll admit I don't necessarily see the connection to the prompt, but the piece itself is grand

bravo and thank you for entering
