Still a Child at 22

When faced with a mirror, this is what reflects on me
Not a grown-up woman, but a child is what I see.

I am almost twenty-three
But I still crave for candy
I still play hide and seek
I still enjoy a kiss on cheek
I still die for papa's hug
I still cry when I break his mug
I still adore mama's home-made cookies
I still prefer lil dorks to rookies
I still love to bathe in rain
Chocolates still work to ease my pain
I'm still amazed by the rainbow's colors
I still run and hop round the corridors
I still play pranks on my neighbors
I still embrace my teddy bear
I still fear the dentist's chair
When I am mad I still pull hair
I still pretend that life is fair.

My ways are still wild
I am still a child.

    What a delightful write ...

this is stunning. Hard to see how you could improve on this. I guess the only thing I can think of is that you might put a "the" in front of "cheek" in line 4 so it sounds more like normal English. Other than that, this is literally perfect.

i can only hope i will be just like this and never lose the wonder of the world, "growing old is unavoidable, growing up is optional."
you seem to live by this quote and i hope one day i will too, thank-you for a beautiful insight into your mind.

For myself I have to disagree with the 2nd line and the ending of this piece. I get the feeling that you see all the things you listed as childish and therefore denoting no or slow growth. I took away a list that couldn't be more beautiful and evolved if you were 100. You will do well keep that list and embrace all of it. I am finding my way back to many of the things you listed...
    Thank you for entering...
