uplifting or degrading that which encourages or humiliates
when the quietness rings true even though a response is never heard
liken to the unanswered prayers without a human utterance.
Words become the weapon of choice by those who are quick to judge
what others sometime said in haste is like a two bladed sword
a cutting edge veiled in ignorance before the purity of thought
piercing the hearts of all those innocent recipients
when the avoidance of a reply can best be as simple as... Silence.
Author notes
Sticks and stones might break my bones ,but Words .... yes they hurt ...worse than anything else.

Words and silence. Both can be used to either heal or hurt but the wounds from words are usually longer in healing. They are not easily dislodged from our mind or our heart.

words are indeed a powerful weapon the command of which gives you an unrivalled arsenal good read i enjoyed this one!!

When Dan Webster put togther his dictionary I wander where he came up with all those words? He seemed to cover all the bases with good ,bad and indifferent.
The most used arsenal of weapons on earth.
You are so right in this concept.
Thank you for commenting and taking your time to read.
God bless...

I always agree with you,
you my friend have filled your thoughts with love and your words shows this,
your words and actions reveal your thoughts
it is no wonder why your poetry always reaches my heart,
we do react but because we harbor these thoughts that will surface eventially, they sit and wait and do come out.
now you most likely do not react or rarely react because of the goodness within you...
words are indeed weapons, they pierce the heart of their victims, and those who govern or whose thoughts are so pure and good do not react or very seldom react.
this is root of all evil.
God is the word
if the word is not good it is not of God
you are a living example of this truth
well written
God bless you my friend..

You always make my day!
Reading your comments inspires me to put my thoughts and feelings on paper,or is better expressed on"word, copy and paste!"
I truely appreciate your applause.
To be honest I have come to mellow in my older years! There were times when my judgment was quick ,with regrets; now I've learned to clear my thoughts before uttering an opinion.
Thank you for your kindness,my friend.
God's word is within each of us...
