Last year
our maples shed their yellow leaves
within an
hour or two,
in a
single "shower"
on November 3rd.
We watched
amazed.
This year
a more
traditional strip;
slower
carpeting,
redder leaves.

Author notes
My grandfather wrote this in a letter he sent recently. It was just one short paragraph among many, but he writes in a way that entangles. I loved it, so I posted it here. And if you don't like it, keep your small-mindedness to yourselves.

"today, my neighbour had a birthday party which included a pinata. i know this because i could hear them screaming from next door, "DIE YOU GREEDY UNICORN!" and "MAKE HIM BLEED CANDY!" my neighbour turned 72 today."
your grandfather seems pretty cool, but i still enjoy your mother the most.
i have a type writer. maybe we could get together and type-write beautiful things.

i'll be sure to bring it up next time I talk to him lol

damn, poetry runs deep amongst your people. I think I'm the only one in my tribe who writes, which is why nobody gets me at family reunions. FML
I especially enjoyed this.

It's mostly just my grandpa who writes. He has the mind - and appearence- of some elderly philosphy/literature professor but he's never done anything with it.
Plus, he actually uses a typewriter. Major cool points.
You read FML? or was that your own addition? www.mylifeisaverage.com -

I know about FML and have read some, but that was my own.
