My wren doth come a sailing
past my window fair,
O ne’er will I catch him
this creature oh so rare
He soars amid winds wiles
a gift sweet wren be free
O he sendeth me a smile
for everyone to see
feathered wren beguiles
little songs of happiness
O wren that lives in style
with thee a life of sheer content
he gives a needful joy
a song upon my breath
O dear friend,
come cloud filled days
of rain, or wind, or snow
but know, I find my wren
O beautiful from beak
to bird blessed toe

I'm a sucker for a "doth" --
Nice tight form -- slightly too twee for what I was looking for here but appreciate reading. I have a pair of wrens living in my yard. They are so adorable.
Best,

Lovely poem reminding us that life's greatest gifts are free and no one is richer than the one who can appreciate all that surrounds us. Love the style and tempo. Best wishes in the comp

That thou shoulds't write such words so fair
To bring my heart delight
On wings aloft my whispered prayer
Will be for you tonight.
This is so wonderful and full of your obvious love for living things and I know that no bird could ever have a better friend. I so enjoyed reading this and it has lightened my day and brought the sun out in spite of the rain!
Very well done.
