Stolen

A single look,
a single smile,
a casual wink
the world will stop meanwhile:

no natural god,
no menacing spirit
will dare stop
lovers' first sweet meeting.

There was no love,
barely a lust,
but embers smoldering
rose to a fire and when lit, must burn.

The world contracted
to fit a single gaze;
I lost my mind and found myself
in the maze that was your eyes.

Brief and sudden,
wonderful
and smooth,
a moment stolen.
