I can feel your warmth fading as you drift away,
Cooling embers have never brought such tears to my eyes,
Physically I could live my whole life without you,
But my spirit would die the moment you leave my side.
How did I get here?
Crashing to the floor,
we burst into flames,
And everything around me is seen in a new light.
I can taste the bitter sweet goodbyes,
Hanging effortlessly in silence,
And I know this could be the end,
If I don't make a move in your direction.
But my feet are firmly planted to the ground,
And I'm to shaken
-------- Not stirred,
To speak.
Tears fall,
Dousing the fire in your eyes,
And taming the beast inside your mind,
In my forgiving solitude
I can say I love you a thousand ways.
Please tell me what you think

this poem is wonderful...but the last two lines...perfection
Every poem must have a memorable exit, I think, and you have done this masterfully well here. Don't think I do not read your work...I do...I am simply not much of a commenter, so forgive me. I will continue to read....you, continue to write
