You could never know the agony
I feel when I lay eyes on you.
You tantalize me, make my bones ache
to crash against yours,
my fingers twitch, as if
they know Utopia is near.
We both have felt that same light and heat
radiating from our grasping, entwined hands.
We've both felt that agonizing moment
when our eyes meet by chance
and the edge of something burning
threatens to consume us whole.
You torture me. It's your sport.
I'm tired of being your plaything,
even though I've become so addicted to it.
(I'm lusting for you to tickle me again.)
Don't touch me unless you can
handle your own reflex action.
Author notes
Prompt: fire
I'm still working through the labyrinth of emotions I'm feeling for
a person who has betrayed me.
