Finding the One

Walking in wonder 'neath a midnight sky,
Full moon glowing midst a million star's light.
Bathed in this mys'try and wondering why
They speak to me so on this special night.
Is it despair that I'm feeling inside,
Is there someone who could cause that in me?
An explosion where two strong wills collide,
With a crumpled soul I turn and I flee.
But quickly I stop, begin to ponder
If what I had is worth trying to save.
Never wanting to doubt and to  wander,
An unfulfilled life from birth to my grave.
Knowing tonight that this life I must live,
Finding the one who I hope will forgive.

Author notes

Was riding in the car on our recent trip and decided to write with no preconceived thought in mind - just put down a line, then look for another that seemed to follow.  This is the result although someone has already told me it seems to fit a particular situation.  All comments are welcome.

Beautiful dad! truly beautiful! I am actually surprised you wrote this on a whim, haha, I never thought a poem like this would just be floating in your head...it is a little darker then your usual writes, I love dark poetry, what am I talking about, I love anything you write dad. *HUGZ*
