Look into my eyes
Just one last time
Our years have been fun
But sweetheart it’s my time
I always thought we’d have a little longer
But, baby, I hear my name being called
Hush now, Please don’t cry
Close your eyes
Remember when you met daddy?
He made you promise
You’d always be there
Yet here I am
The one leavening you
I’m so sorry…
But there’s nothing we can do
Tell the kids I love them
And that they were the best
Tell our grandbabies
I’ll watch over them while they rest
Tell my sister
Each and everyday I loved her
Even though we always fought
And tell that husband of hers
To treat her right
Or he’s the one I’ll come back and haunt
Its getting chilly, my love
Open the window
Let the warm summer air in
I wish to hear the birds one last time
Hold my hand please
I wish to feel your touch
Kiss me, one last time
I’ll be waiting for you
But please take your time
And remember you’ll always be mine
Author notes
I do not know exactly what brought me to write this... seeing I am neither old enough to go through this yet. I am neither married or have children. I guess its just one of those things... I hope you like it
