Snow White, A Tale of Horrors (Finally here!)

Behold the mask of Snow Whit Lilly's face
so frozen in death beneath glass case.
And I the cause her her demise,
So full of joy, with teary eyes.

The huntsman who failed me early,
was left to worms and creature's earthy.
Though the life, from many pigs- he did rob.
T'was my folly, sending a man to do a woman's job.

To my cellar, I departed,
full of vigor and joyful hearted.
Past yon thirsting swane I pass,
reaching for rainwater, with no glass.

I bid him no mercy, and continue on,
visions of that girl, slain and gone.
Then the mirror would see- naught but me!
The fairest creature in the land!

With vile in hand, I drank deep,
Feeling myself waking from sleep.
A tired air crept over my newly aged form,
Something like wretched hag, and new-born.

My eyes were sunk, my hair was white.
Indeed, I was a servant of night.
My fingers curled, my lips pulled back,
In a hound's snarl, ready for attack.

Now, t'was time for the apple to turn,
a shade of giren to shame a worm-
then to red, so sweet and enticing,
perfect for an old crone's devising.

With basket in hand, I was ready to lame,
the waifish thing, her beauty, her fame!
And I should be then the fairest of all,
As I will have committed springtime to fall.

With all said and done, my mission complete,
I can't help but think, t'was too simple a feat.
To bring down the one who'd done me such wrong,
was no more difficult than loosing a throng.

    Awesome...

    Impressive work...
Great rhyme scheme with wonderful imagery & fairytale narrative that is in the traditional vein of the original Brother's Grimm chilling storytelling than Disney's child friendly re-telling... Love it...
    Keep up the great work...
    Well done!!!

  • absolutly wonderful, i love the fact you took it from the queen's perspective.
