The living and full expression,
of the mind and heart of God
With the precision of a surgeon's scalpel it pierces us,
Penetrating to the very marrow of our being,
the center of all that holds us together.
We are laid bare before His searching Light
which discerns the true intentions of our heart,
Bringing illumination to the most hidden and secret thoughts;
Full exposure to the depth of our soul; even our spirit itself.
No longer can we hide the truth from ourselves.
No longer can we deny, the cancer is exposed.
His knife is merciful but purposeful in His hand.
He holds a mirror before our open wound
Leaving with us the decision,
to cleanse and heal--or to close.
Author notes
"The word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edge sword, it
penetrates even to dividing soul and Spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the
thoughts and attitude of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

Excellent
What a beautiful write, you captured the spiritual truth so very well in your words. And showed your soul so very well. Best of luck in the contest

just before I clicked on your poem,
I was telling a friend in a comment,
that God is the word
if the word is not good it is not God
Are we able to fill our thoughts and words with only good.
only through God is this possible
His knife is merciful but purposeful in His hand
He holds a mirror before our open wound
allowing us to know ourselves
and when we do we will know others
when we see the sameness it gives birth to acceptance and understanding and compassion
He transforms us and humility grows
Leaving us with a decision,
to cleanse and heal--or to close
yes this is a wonderful and profound gift to read
Thank you
beautifully written
God bless you my friend...

Yes indeed we cannot hide anything from God and likewise cannot hide anything from ourselves...yet we deceive ourselves with all sorts of 'justifications' etc; God is not deceived; everything we do is seen not only by God, but by everyone we come in contact with; it is possible to become so tangled up in our own webs of imagination and 'cleverness' that we lose sight of who we really are
No wonder the world's in such a mess, we have lost ourselves and lost one another; one day we'll lose this world
What we really need now is for someone to wear the sandals again, I hope we don't hurt him next time...

This is great; a wonderful expression of the word of God. Well done, thanks for sharing.

I am not used to your writing in this style and it seems to suit you well. Content is beautiful and as always full of sharp imagery that I never have to try to figure out.
