She
She’s a fuck up.
Why bother anymore?
She tells herself.
And yet she keeps trying.
She’s the kid,
That tries too hard.
The one they laugh at.
Not because she’s funny,
But because she tries.
There she is.
The one with the fake smiles,
Forcing herself to laugh,
Forcing herself not to cry.
Do they give a shit?
Do they know what it’s like?
To cry silently?
No tears, no frowns.
They have no fucking clue.
“Console yourself,
You’re better alone.
Destroy yourself,
See who gives a fuck.”*
It’s all her fault,
He’s pulling away
And it feels like she’s pushing.
She blames her mother,
Blames nature,
Blames the week she’s had,
But in reality,
Deep down,
She knows who’s to blame.
The words pierce her ears.
She clutches her head,
Thinking to herself,
“Stop, please. No more.
It hurts too much.”
Yet the words keep on coming,
From the one she loves.
They stab her body,
Tear at her heart,
But if she makes a sound,
They will kill her.
Will no one see past it all?
Will no one hear her silent cries?
Will no one take her away?
Will no one save her from herself,
Before it’s too late.
It’s too late.
