outside in, battles fought within,
each concept, each secret shared,
my heart seems to take a spin,
however, You have saved and spared.
thinking of heroes, each one with miles to go,
how can I even hope for their resolve and power?
should I abandon my race when I have come toe to toe,
can I somehow turn around, and then try to cower?
Shepherded through, each valley adds to strength anew,
care you've shown in leading me here,
guiding me in the direction I need to follow You.
Somehow I know I've heard your cheer,
all along this wilderness, your presence has never been less,
for You are by my side,
providing me each morsel, taking away each stress,
even when I would want to hide.
Through the finish of this life, You will ease each strife,
bring me to finally see your face,
as I join Your side as a bride, your wife,
Thank you for bringing me through this race...
Author notes
I may edit, but I do really like this way of setting up the poem...very fun!

This is a thoughtful poem of personal turmoil and hopeful resolution. This form requires internal rhyme on the third line of each stanza, and I am failing to see that in this poem. the other rhyme is good and the meter is ok. Thanks for your entry dear poet.

This is a wonderfully weaved story with great rhyme and a message and I love it, but line three in each stanza does not have an internal and end line rhyme. You have instead set the end line to rhyme with line ones end line.
Thank you for entering the contest and sharing your talent.

You are right Bill! That's the first I noticed I screwed it up. Thanks for pointing it out, and forgive me...thank's for your nice comment though...

The rhyme is a song of life. It would seem this person is a completion of you. Write on!!

This person refers to my relationship with the Lord, and I do hope that I am close to Him, although there are times I stumble and doubt. Thanks for your comment!
