soul tastes heaven
cupped
by Mother and Child
blood ripened to the brush
held by Botticelli
and by God
days grow segmented sweet
covered in the bitter
white
of skin
be careful how you bite
oh Rhea
into the earth
it may burst
into seeded
red arils
of passion

I never would have thought, eating a pomegranate, could be so intense but your passion for poetry makes it so. Good luck in the contest.
Sincerely,

My
Two things , talents I would have loved to have been blessed with. a musical tongue and the brush of an artist. Mouth watering write talented poet.

that elusive pomegrante
Another of life's experiences
That I have failed / thus far
to taste
As I
am unlikely to play
tamborine and drum
"So far to go before I sleep".

Oddly enough, I saw this on a Toyota 4-Runner for sale on the side of the road: "If there's blood in the roots, there's blood on the branches."
I don't think I want to buy that truck even if it's like real cheap, because forensics will someday almost certainly accuse me of murder...
Anyhow...sorry but that memory I think I had recently started to repress resurfaced with this poem. Maybe there's even an allusional relationship. I don't know. I hope not, but I do know that all of history is open to interpretation. One guy says, "This means we need to be noble." and another says, "This means we need to keep the black fellas out of town."
I don't think we should stop writing things. I think we simply need to educate everyone in the world much better than we are. -
Wow...so sensual about eating the pomegranate, you really do take it there with a passion for the fruit. Excellent. Blessings.
