The lady draped in red
She would come in my room, and sing me a song
Right before I went to bed
Day by day she would hover above me
She looked down on me like she truly loved me
Until one day she was gone,
But not for long…
The next night she was back singing her song
The lady in red I marveled in her beauty
The look in her eyes was shear worry
I believe to date that she haunted my place because
I was like her son she wanted me to be safe
Lady in red paraded around my room from night to night
No matter day or night she would be their through all the blight
The lady draped in red
Came to my bed
In the end I realized she was dead
Author notes
Well here is the story behind this poem. When I was 3 or 4 there was a lady who lived in the trailer park near me, and my parents. She used to come in all the time to see me she treated me just as if I was her grandchild. She came and saw me literally every day, but one day she stopped coming. About a week later she returned her facial expressions were of love her looks I could remember were looking deep into my soul. I found out later in life that this woman had died after that week.

Hmm...So my feeling was right. This was amazing...I was captivated from line 1. I can tell you're someone who takes your writing very seriously. I like that a lot. Once again. Very well written.

I have to say that was one of the greatest comments I have ever gotten as a writer. It really means a lot to me to actually know I have touched a viewer.

Perhaps you stopped seeing this lady because you were getting older and only very young children are open to this kind of vision. I think I have heard that theory.
She sounds like a very benign ghost. Thank you for sharing the story and entering this contest. Please note you do have a couple of typos and I would be pleased to give you a couple of days to fix things up.
