The Greatest Promise

I'm floating on whispers of yesterday's promise
like walking on clouds way up in the sky.
Nothing can stop me from reaching my future
with family, friends and a clear path to fly.

Deep down in my heart I know it's easy to reach
with help from the Father who's always there.
His guidance and mercy, unlimited peace
gives me assurance of a love so rare.

Each day I awake with a smile and an outlook
positive thoughts keep me on the right track.
With great expectations, nothing can stop me
I'm moving ahead, never taking steps back.

What a wonderful way to start the day

Outstanding in times when a lot of the writes on here are dark and dealing with death and depressions...this poem is full of good vibes, is uplifting and makes the reader think...a fantastic change...

Enjoyable metaphors in the first stanza, and your strength and faith are strong...you deserve applause for this piece

    Hugs and smiles...

This is a wonderful optimisitic and positive poem that lifts the heart and looks to the future with great clarity and warmth. The rhyme scheme is subtle and doesn't detract from the rest of the poem. I liked the simplicity of the message. With God's support there is little we can't achieve. Best of luck in the contest.

I loved your opening line with its soft metaphor. The optimistic and hopeful tone of this poem is so refreshing. There are so many things that go wrong in our lives and so many problems to grouse about, but you have opted to look at life from a positive angle and see the best of everything. I like your style. Peace, Liz

It's always great to see positivity in a negative world. We are what we think we are. We can do what we think we can. Our success of failure, happiness or misery, start and end in the mind. Nice to read you again.

Holding back the tears as I read dear friend, as it not the testimony of some of us who either for a loved one, or ourselves we could become captive to the circumstances that surrounds us..For me it has been my dear brother with a rare illness, and I can get over burdened as tonight for him...as the need to trust even for my own future....and you yourself speak from experience as well...
Your message of faith is pure, and so full of faith! All the best in the contest!
    and my Canadian friend!
