Moods and Movement

Moods and Movement

My thoughts flow swift and sure like the great river, strong and without faltering.

Images emerge clear and assured
As rich and fertile as the banks of the Nile as it sweeps through Egypt

Palm trees heavy laden with dates wave her on her way, and the gatherers of reeds stand knee deep in rich silt carried from a distant plateau.

Around the bend of the river the land drops away, and far below black rocks await her arrival with evil intent Downward she plummets beating on the rocks below, like a demented drummer high on hashish, drumming out a mad staccato.

My thoughts follow suit.

From flowing smooth and effortlessly
They now beat their own staccato
Stop…Start…Stop …beating against my brain, taking their lead from the demented drummer.

White granite walls touch the powder blue sky above, while white water boils and froths as it rampages like a herd of charging buffalo, dashing against canyon walls before turning back on itself in chaos.

Eventually chaos is left behind; the river flows smoothly, calm is restored.

Now like the river, my thoughts are swept along in a smooth unbroken stretch, flowing with a renewed sense of calm towards the ultimate goal.

Onward we two travel as one

Far below her birthplace she comes to rest on a bed of golden sand, still now, surrounded by the fruits of her labour.

Her surface is calm broken only by golden Zephyrs as they skip lightly across her silver mirror
followed by a dragonfly who signs her name with a trailing leg.

And now in the stillness of my mind I need journey no further
for like the river I have run my course.

My thoughts are still now
and in the stillness I find Solace.

Does it make sense?
