we counted backwards and stole stars from sunny sky
as the merry-go-around spun counterclockwise--
a year was a long time to wait
we carried umbrellas and watched snowflakes melt
as the duet between spring and winter ended--
2 years since your last postcard
we caught fireflies and flew with lost Monarchs
as the soundless symphony came to a closure--
3 was never the magic number

So nicely spoken sis!

love your creativity with using 1,2, then 3 years; I'd love to point out every part about this but I don't want to recite your whole poem here >.< I'll use line numbers
lol
L1 and L2 are increddddible : )
and i love the connection between snowflakes and a change in seasons in the second stanza, and in the last stanza i love the use of "lost Monarchs / as the soundless symphony came to a closure"
that last bit I mentioned has SOOOO much to it. the way you haven't heard from the other person in a long time, making it soundless, or the way love can be silent when your'e not with that one person; just... so many things.
great work!

-
i really love this. the use of the one year, two year, three year in each stanza. and the concept of there being stars in a sunny sky.
amazing job. <3
